West Midlands Speech & Language Therapy are a well-established team of qualified and highly experienced speech & language therapists (SLT) and occupational therapists (OT) providing a quality, bespoke service to educational settings across Birmingham and surrounding areas. We work with children and young people with communication difficulties from 0-25 years across numerous settings including nursery schools, children’s centres/clinics, mainstream primary and secondary schools as well as in specialist provision for young children and adults.

We are a constantly growing team, comprising of 22 SLTs, 3 OTs, 5 Therapy support staff and an admin clerk. We have a range of skills mix within the team from highly experienced therapy support staff, newly qualified staff though to highly experienced therapists with years of experience. This enables us to provide an excellent in-house support network for all.  Meet the team here We are WMSLT - YouTube

OUR STORY

The company was founded in 2005 and a small number of staff worked across a handful of schools in the West Midlands. As awareness of need grew within education and schools became more autonomous in their commissioning powers, so the company grew and became incorporated in 2014. It is led by Helen Langbourne and Michelle Turner, both Speech and Language Therapists, with a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors. We both qualified in the Mid 90’s from Birmingham City University and have been working within the Midlands since this time. The company has grown rapidly since its modest beginnings to a well-respected and well-established provider of quality SLT and OT services to schools
