Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol or Manchester airports. The post is based at the new state of the art St. Bernard’s Hospital built in 2005, located by the waterfront, overlooking the straits of Gibraltar & Northern Africa. The area is perfect for those wishing to explore Southern Spain, Portugal and North Africa. English is the official main language with Spanish widely spoken.
The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from qualified Speech & Language Therapists (SLT) who by virtue of their citizenship are entitled to take up employment and who are or on employment will be resident in Gibraltar.
The post holder would be part of a progressive, supportive and flexible adult SLT team that covers hospital in-patients, out-patients and community patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent and resourceful SLT who will work with the team in providing a comprehensive Speech & Language Therapy and Dysphagia service to adults presenting with conditions that affect communication and swallowing including voice, stroke and other acquired neurological disorders.
This post would be an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified SLT looking to establishing a sound working knowledge in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of communication disorders and working towards developing their dysphagia skills using the RCSLT competencies framework.
This post is on contract terms and is for a period of 24 months; salary is dependable on experience and ranges from £30,563 to £34,257.
Economy class flights from UK to Gibraltar return are reimbursed in full and a monthly rented accommodation allowance of £350.00 will also be payable.
HCPC registration and membership of RCSLT are essential. Relevant experience/training in Dysphagia management is desirable.
