Join our highly professional Speech and Language Therapy Team at National Star
Speech and Language Therapists at National Star have a key role in ensuring that students gain the skills and confidence to communicate effectively as part of their journey towards living as independently as possible.
How satisfying would it be to think that you had played a part in helping a young person with a disability to find their voice?
We’re looking to recruit 2 new Speech and Language Therapists to join our team, supporting students to develop their skills so that they can express their opinions, make choices and communicate with family and friends.
As you will be working with students with a broad range of physical and learning disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Acquired Brain Injury, we’re expecting you will have clinical experience in this field, providing direct and indirect therapeutic support in a range of settings. A practical knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication, Makaton, Dysphagia, and / or Intensive Interaction would help you to immediately contribute to our team and provide active support to our students.
It goes without saying that you will also have excellent observational and communications skills and a creative and flexible approach to work. Multi-disciplinary working is key to the success of our college so being a team player is a must-have attribute as you will find yourself working alongside our occupational therapy, physiotherapy, education, nursing and residential teams.
It is assumed that you will already have recognised Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists degree level qualification and membership of The Royal College of Speech and Language. We will support you in your career development with on the job training and relevant postgraduate training in line with business need.
Whatever your motivation to join National Star’s SLT team you will be supported to develop in your role, learning from some of the UK’s leading speech and language therapy professionals.
