Speech and Language Therapist - Paediatric

If you are a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in working within a school setting, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team in Crewe.

The post holder will provide speech and language therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people in mainstream school settings who have speech and therapy provision identifiesd on EHCP.

You will need to have a good understanding, knowledge and experience of the EHCP/SEND process, and also be willing to travel to different school settings to complete intervention, therefore being a car driver is essential.

You should have post-grad experience of working with children and young people ideally within a school setting, although this would not be essential.

Experience of working within a MDT and good communication skills willl be needed for this role, due to liaising regularly with parents, carers and education staff/ wider health MDT.

Salary: 32/h - Monday to Friday (Part time considered)

What you'll need as a Speech Language Therapist:

  • Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, including further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality
  • Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise.
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
  • HCPC Licence to Practice, Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Membership of relevant CEN
  • 6 months of paid patient facing UK nursing experience from within the past 3 years
  • Up-to-date clinical best practice knowledge
  • The right to work in the UK
