SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded, Outstanding-rated primary school in Clapton, Hackney. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to support students in enhancing their communication and language abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Support: Provide one-to-one speech and language interventions for students, implementing strategies as outlined by the Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead small group sessions to foster language development, promote communication skills, and support social interaction among students.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Diligently monitor student progress, ensuring that all interventions are effective and objectives are being met. Provide detailed reports and feedback to the Speech and Language Therapist and teaching staff.
  • Resource Development: Design and prepare appropriate resources tailored to the needs of individual students, ensuring materials are aligned with the speech and language goals.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff members to incorporate speech and language strategies within classroom activities and the broader school curriculum.
  • Parent Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on their child's progress and offer advice on supporting language development at home.

Candidate Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in delivering one-to-one speech and language interventions.

Competence in following and implementing guidance provided by Speech and Language Therapists.

Strong organisational abilities to track, monitor, and document student progress effectively.

A genuine passion for supporting children's communication and language development.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.

Adaptability and creativity in the development of resources and strategies to meet varying student needs.

Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on students' learning experiences.
