Newly Qualified Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

Location: National Therapy Assessment Centre, Bridgwater, TA6 6LQ (plus, Outreach Hubs & Home Visits)

Salary: £28,500 per annum (with potential for progression following completion of competencies)

Are you passionate about making a real, lasting difference in children’s lives? Do you want to be part of a team that values your expertise, gives you the time to truly focus on children and families, and supports your professional growth? If so, this could be the perfect role for you!

At Brainwave, we believe that every child deserves the best chance to reach their full potential. As a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the time, resources, and team support to create truly impactful and individualised therapy programmes.

This role is ideal for a newly or recently qualified Speech and Language Therapist! We provide structured support to help you work through your Newly Qualified Therapist (NQT) competencies if required, and we can fully support you through your NQT year in a nurturing and collaborative environment.

Why Join Us?

Meaningful Work – Spend a full day with each family, developing personalised home-based therapy programmes that truly change lives. See the progress first-hand when families return for reassessments.

A Supportive, Compassionate Team – Work in a multi-disciplinary team where collaboration is key. We are all here for the same reason: to help children thrive.

Better Work-Life Balance – Unlike many NHS roles, we ensure protected admin and CPD time, giving you the space to develop and reflect on your practice.

Ongoing Professional Development – Whether you are newly qualified or looking to grow in your career, we will provide mentorship, training, and support to help you succeed.

Comfort & Wellbeing – Enjoy your own desk, free tea, coffee, and fruit, and a workplace that prioritises your happiness and job satisfaction.

A Holistic Approach – Work in a role where you can spend quality time with families, creating plans that fit their unique needs—without the pressure of rushing through appointments.

What you will do:

Assess, identify, and review children’s speech, language, and communication needs.

Develop personalised therapy programmes in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team.

Empower families by teaching them how to deliver effective therapy at home.

Keep up to date with the latest developments in speech and language therapy.

Make a real impact by helping children with complex needs find the best way to communicate for them and their family.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration (or have applied for it).
  • A newly or recently qualified SLT looking for a supportive environment to develop and grow.
  • Someone who may require support in working through Newly Qualified Therapist (NQT) competencies and completing their NQT year.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Someone who is passionate, positive, and dedicated to improving children’s lives.
  • Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.
  • This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to be part of something truly special. If you are ready to change lives, be valued for your work, and join a team that cares, we’d love to hear from you.
