Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6)

Location: Marylebone, Central London

Salary: Band 6, competitive + benefits

Type: Full-time, 37 weeks per year (term time only)

Start date: 1st September 2025

Join our team as a Speech and Language Therapist at Abingdon House School – Senior Campus, Marylebone

At Abingdon House School, we combine an integrated therapeutic approach with a mainstream-style curriculum, tailored to each child’s individual needs. Our students have unique learning profiles, including needs associated with dyslexia, autism, and social communication difficulties. As part of our in-house therapy team, you’ll collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, support staff, and teaching staff to deliver interventions, assess progress, and support students both academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities:

● Deliver speech and language therapy tailored to individual pupil needs

● Create and evaluate therapeutic and educational programmes

● Collaborate on individual student IEPs

● Monitor and report on pupil progress

● Supervise students and therapy assistants as needed

● Actively participate in wider school life and safeguarding duties

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

● HCPC-registered Band 6 SLT

● Experience with SEN/SpLD children

● Excellent team player with strong communication skills

● Confident in clinical assessments, IT systems, and documentation

● A proactive, child-centred approach

Desirable:

● School-based experience

● Familiarity with behaviour support strategies and care plans

● Confidence managing complex cases using evidence-based practice
