Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Salary £46,000 - 54,000 per annum (Band 7 – Band 8)

Location - Portfield School, Parley Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6BP

Demonstrate your strengths as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with this new opportunity at Autism Unlimited.

As our Specialist SALT, you will oversee of the speech therapy output across the Charity and supervise two Speech and Language Therapists within the team.

Portfield School is a specialised setting for children with a primary diagnosis of autism from early years through to school leavers. We are proud to have over 90 students currently and we are growing fast!

Working within a close-knit multi-disciplinary team and other therapy professionals, you will play a key role in the development of our students’ speech, language and communication skills and overall academic achievements. We have bespoke resources and equipment to support our students and your clinical practice including a Speech and Language Therapy room, sensory room, an Occupational Therapy room, a swimming pool and much more.

Our Therapy Team consists of driven therapy professionals developing their career specialism in autism whilst supporting students on their journey through education and beyond. Would you like to be part of the team?

The role is full of variety as you will also contribute to the training and knowledge development of our support staff, as well as providing external training to parents and other professionals. This will include training on Total Communication and promoting Positive Behaviour Support across the charity.​
