Advanced Practitioner Speech & Language Therapist - Clinical Coordinator School Age EDS

As part of a multi-disciplinary/agency team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

To deliver comprehensive, highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with a variety of communication difficulties and/or eating/drinking/swallowing difficulties.

This service will be delivered in a variety of settings.

The post holder is expected to have high level clinical skills, knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of complex diagnoses and aetiologies.

Duties and location may vary depending on the client group/aspect and demands of the service/level of experience.

• Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
• Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
• Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
• Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
• Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
• Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualifications.
• The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
• Working knowledge of basic information technology.
• A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

• Member of RCSLT
• Post graduate leadership/management training
• Postgraduate qualification in Developmental Dysphagia/EDS
• Knowledge of current local and national policies in specialist area
• Training of others in the management of eating, drinking and swallowing disorders
• Able to analyse and use data to inform service delivery
