As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service

Band 6 Specialist - Acute, RHCYP (Panlothian Team)

Up to 1.0 wte/ 37 hours per week

Fixed Term - One Year

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapists to join the Acute SLT team at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People where we have a skill mixed team of SLTs and SLT Assistants.

The post-holder will be based at The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and will work with a range of inpatients, outpatients and community cases from birth to 16yrs.

You will also have supervision responsibilities for Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants.

You will be an innovative and flexible therapist with experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. It is essential you are practicing at a Foundation level at least on RCSLT EDS competency framework. Experience of working with Early Years and AAC is desirable.

Experience of providing clinical supervision and managing a caseload independently would be beneficial.

You will be surrounded by a friendly, experienced and committed Speech and Language Therapy team.
