Salary: Professional Pay Scale Therapy Band 6 £12,554.42 – £14,866.30 (FTE £34,722 - £41,116) per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
Location: The Link Primary School CR0 4PG and The Link Secondary School CR0 4PD
Working Pattern: 14 hours (2 days) per week, term time only (Clinical duties to be carried out during term time)
The Link Primary School is an Outstanding special school located in the London Borough of Sutton and provides specialist teaching and therapy for up to 50 pupils aged 4 to 11 whose primary need is speech, language and communication. Some pupils have additional learning or sensory integration needs and a large percentage of pupils have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We require a Speech and Language Therapist to work within our pathway 3 learning group which is specifically for children and young people with Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an established service for this group that has proven to be successful in supporting children with mental health and social communication needs. The challenge for this role comes in being able to adapt evidence- based strategies to a “backdoor therapeutic” approach so that the young people meet their targets through an emphasis on communicating about their own motivations and interests. This role will suit a candidate who is a confident child centred practitioner but is seeking an additional challenge or string to their bow.
