Speech & Language Therapist (SALT) - SEND Tribunal Assessment

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to undertake a specialist assessment to support a SEND Tribunal case for a Local Authority in the North of England.

This is a one-off, high-quality piece of work requiring a confident clinician with strong assessment and report-writing skills.

The Role

You will:

  • Undertake a face-to-face assessment of a child/young person within an educational setting
  • Complete a comprehensive evaluation of:
    • Receptive and expressive communication
    • Social communication
    • Speech / phonology
    • Attention and listening
  • Engage with key stakeholders (family and education staff)

Reporting Requirements

You will produce a Tribunal-ready report, including:

  • Summary of needs
  • Assessment findings
  • Functional impact within education
  • Clear, quantified recommendations (frequency, duration, delivery)

Requirements

  • HCPC registered Speech & Language Therapist
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to deliver within tight timescales
