Speech and Language Therapist in Secondary Schools

Job Description

Speech and Language Therapist - Make a Real Impact in Schools

Location: Ilford
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible
Start Date: ASAP

Love helping children find their voice? This one's for you.

If you're a Speech and Language Therapist who thrives on those lightbulb moments, when a child says a word they've been working so hard towards, you'll feel right at home here.

We're working with a range of welcoming schools looking for someone just like you. Someone who gets it. Someone who knows that communication is everything, and that small steps can lead to big breakthroughs.

What you'll be doing

No two days look the same, and that's part of the magic.

  • Supporting pupils with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence and skills
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
  • Creating tailored therapy plans that actually work in a classroom setting
  • Helping children feel heard, understood, and ready to learn
What schools are looking for
  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist (HCPC registered or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children, ideally in school or SEND settings
  • A calm, patient approach with a good sense of humour (you'll need it!)
  • Someone who can build trust quickly, with pupils and staff alike
  • A genuine passion for helping every child reach their potential
Why work in schools?

Because your impact goes beyond sessions.

You're not just supporting speech, you're opening doors. Helping a child join in, make friends, answer questions, and feel confident in their world. That's the real win.
