Neurodevelopmental Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a Speech and Language Therapist passionate about Neurodiversity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to work in our Neurodevelopmental team, based in Wrexham. The full time (1.0 WTE) Band 6 post will involve working with children and young people and their families with neuro developmental conditions.

You will work in the East Neurodevelopmental Service which covers Wrexham and Flintshire in North Wales. The service offers neuro developmental assessment services to children and young people.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will contribute their specialist knowledge and clinical experience to the neuro developmental team, supporting the assessment and management of the needs of young people. They will be completing neuro developmental assessments and personal strengths and needs profiles. You will have previous knowledge or experience of working with children or young people with an ND profile. You will have enthusiasm and skills to support service development and contribute on a range of projects to ensure a coordinated service provision under the supervision of Band 7 colleagues. You will interface with a range of other services, working collaboratively to support children, young people and their families.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Recognised qualification degree / equivalent
  • HCPC Registration
  • Able to demonstrate continuing professional development (e.g., up to date, relevant CPD portfolio)
Experience
  • A range of clinical experience across adult / paediatric SLT services
  • Delegation to non registered staff
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary / multiprofessional teams
  • Experience of delivering / supporting service change
  • Welsh / English therapy provision
Knowledge & Skills
  • Effective planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Awareness of principles of clinical governance / audit
  • Broad knowledge of health legislation / policy
  • Welsh speaker
