Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

We’re looking for an experienced, positive, enthusiastic, and proactive paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with to join our expanding multidisciplinary team at Starjumpz, supporting children and young people with a broad range of needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly respected, holistic centre offering innovative, child-centred assessment and therapy services. The role is based at our Crowborough centre, with some work in the local community across East and West Sussex.

Starjumpz is a leading independent, CQC Registered assessment and therapy centre known for its pioneering, innovative and holistic approach. In addition to Speech and Language Therapy, Starjumpz services include Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Psychiatrist diagnostic assessments, post adoption services, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Psychological services, Neurofeedback and Functional Medicine. We are a dynamic, caring and friendly team who are passionate about changing children’s futures and supporting families.

About the Role:

  • Work across a range of settings: our clinic, schools, family homes, and community locations within Kent and Sussex
  • Support children and young people aged 0-19 with a variety of needs, including:
  • Autism, ADHD, PDA
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Language disorders and articulation difficulties
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Developmental delay, learning disabilities
  • Attachment difficulties and developmental trauma
  • Please note that this position is not suitable for a newly qualified candidate

The new Speech and Language Therapist will be able to:

  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues within a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate effectively within a large team to ensure effective exchange of information and delivery of a multidisciplinary service
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information in an accessible way to parents and carers
  • Write clear, accurate reports (with a good level of English) reflecting the needs of children and young people effectively to parents, carers and other professionals
  • Support and deliver presentations to schools, parents and carers
  • Work in wide range of different environments
  • Work independently as well as within a team
  • Confidently travel to different areas to support young people and families at home and in schools

In addition, due to the waiting caseload, they will have experience in working with:

  • a paediatric caseload
  • ADHD and Autistic children using a neuro-affirming approach
  • children, young people and families with PDA
  • a range of different AAC systems
  • children identified as GLP
  • children with a range of differing needs

The successful applicant must be registered with the HCPC and preferably be a member of RCSLT. The successful applicant will also be subject to safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS check.

Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
