About Chelsea Hall School
Chelsea Hall School is an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs. We are part of the Cavendish Group, a unique group of educational independent day and boarding schools. We work closely with the other schools in our group and believe in 'thinking differently’ and being as creative as possible in our teaching.
About the role
In this role, you’ll provide Speech and Language Therapy to Chelsea Hall students. You’ll deliver therapy and education programmes based on pupils’ individual needs, including the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of support programmes; and the delivery and assessment of pupil interventions in and outside of school. In collaboration with caregivers and teaching staff, you’ll provide speech and language targets for integration into the curriculum as part of each student’s IEP. You’ll also deliver regular assessments and progress reports, and participate in appraisals and clinical and management supervision as and when required. In addition to your responsibilities as a therapist, you’ll contribute to and support all aspects of school life, helping with safeguarding both on the school premises and during school outings and other activities.
Essential qualifications and experience:

HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist

Experience in paediatric SaLT
-
Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of children with SEN/SpLD, and experience in this environment and and commitment to safeguarding children

Knowledge of relevant risk management, health & safety, and child protection practices
Key responsibilities
-
To complete comprehensive assessments for each pupil on your caseload in order to determine their individual speech, language and communication needs

To plan, deliver and evaluate 1:1 and group evidence based therapy programmes to develop skills in receptive/expressive spoken language, attention and listening, social communication, AAC and other areas where appropriate

To manage (with support) a caseload of children with a range of speech, language and communication needs relating to ASD, global developmental delay, and other conditions

To ensure good preparation for and participation in team meetings and all parents meetings, including curriculum evenings, IEP meetings, and annual reviews of EHCP meetings

To develop effective working relationships and strong communication skills with school staff in order to liaise and problem solve as well as to train staff in relevant therapeutic strategies tailored to the needs of the children

We are a small specialist school with a strong focus on providing integrated therapy. We welcome children aged 4-11 years old who may have mild to moderate, and sometimes multiple, learning needs.

Founded in 1997 as an alternative provision to mainstream schooling in London, the school has developed over the years and our current base in Waynflete Street, Earlsfield, is purposely designed to feel less like a typical school building and more like a comfortable, homely base where children can feel safe and confident to enjoy learning again.
The Hall has three therapy rooms, nine classrooms, a movement room, a large hall for dining, social and creative activities, as well as a library, a small playground with play equipment and sensory spaces. The decor is different from typical schools too and we see that many children immediately recognise that it is different. Many children make rapid progress when compared to their mainstream experience where they may have been struggling academically or socially from as young as four years of age.
In March 2021 the school became part of the Cavendish Education Group and changed its name to Chelsea Hall School.
