What You’ll Do

As our Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, you’ll play a key role in supporting students; communication needs across the school. Your work will include:

Therapy & Assessment:

  • Assess, diagnose and deliver targeted interventions for students aged 7–16
  • Provide 1:1 therapy, small group sessions, and in-class support
  • Monitor progress and adjust support accordingly

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with teachers, LSAs, SENCo and external professionals
  • Offer training and guidance to staff, parents and carers
  • Attend annual reviews, parent events and multi-disciplinary meetings

Record Keeping & Reporting:

  • Write ILPs, annual review reports and professional reports
  • Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant clinical records
  • Adhere to Child Protection, safeguarding and professional standards

Whole-School Contribution:

  • Take part in staff meetings, INSET days and wider school activities
  • Support students with EHCPs and contribute to personalised support plans

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • HCPC registered (and holds relevant professional membership)
  • Experienced in delivering SALT interventions in educational or paediatric settings
  • Confident writing reports and support plans
  • Collaborative, proactive and passionate about SEN
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality and high professional standards
  • Able to maintain professionalism, resilience and a positive “can-do” attitude
