About the Role

We are recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist to join our specialist SEN school environment, offering a flexible Band 5–7 opportunity depending on experience, skills, and readiness for responsibility.

This role is ideal for:

  • Newly qualified or early-career SLTs seeking strong supervision and development, or

  • Experienced / Specialist SLTs ready to lead, influence provision, and shape best practice.

You will work with children and young people with autism, speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and complex learning needs, as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Banding, responsibilities and leadership expectations will be aligned to your experience, with clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities (Adjusted by Band)

Across all levels, you will:

  • Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs

  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions

  • Support classroom-based communication strategies

  • Contribute to reports, reviews, and outcome tracking

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and professionals

At Band 6–7 level, you will also:

  • Provide specialist input for complex needs and autism

  • Lead or shape therapy provision across the school

  • Contribute to EHCP targets and strategic planning

  • Support, supervise, or mentor junior staff where appropriate

  • Advise and train school staff to embed best practice

What We’re Looking For

  • BSc or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy

  • HCPC registration (or pending for newly qualified therapists)

  • Interest or experience in SEN, autism, and SLCN

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • For higher bands: experience with complex cases and/or service leadership

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
