Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Neuro ESD

The closing date is 27 April 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Speech & Language Therapist to join our team to lead in the provision of therapy to patients in our Neuro ESD service.

The ESD service provides time-limited, intensive, specialist neuro, home-based rehab with patients primarily from the Southampton city and surrounding Hampshire region. Profession specific and CPD support will be provided. The post holder must have post graduate experience including stroke/neuro clinical experience and evidence of working within an MDT. Enthusiasm for evidence based practice, particularly in aphasia therapy, is essential.

  • Contribute to data collection where relevant as part of the MDT.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary neurological community team, in close collaboration with other services, such as acute stroke units, community rehab teams, virtual wards, rapid response units, etc.
  • Provide clinical support to other colleagues, including students, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to client information, manage priorities, organise equipment/resources and liaise with other SLTs about continuing care following discharge.
  • Be flexible in providing cover to community settings where most needed, as directed by the clinical services manager.
  • Contribute wherever possible to administrative processes that ensure efficient service delivery for clients.
