Locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist within Acute Stroke in Milton Keynes UK earning up to £31 Hourly Ongoing Full-time

What you will do:

  • Independently manage dysphagia and communication difficulties arising from a wide range of aetiologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide expert advice and support around Speech and Language Therapy for the Acute Stroke Unit, liaising with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ideally, apply your competency in videofluoroscopy and work with tracheostomy.
  • Deliver training to healthcare staff, promoting best practices in managing speech and language difficulties.
  • Contribute to patient care plans, ensuring continuity and comprehensive support throughout a patient's treatment.

Requirements:

A degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration is essential. You must be able to independently manage dysphagia and communication difficulties arising from a wide range of aetiologies. Experience as a Speech and Language Therapist in the UK or NHS post-qualification is required. Ideally, you will be competent in videofluoroscopy and working with tracheostomies.
