As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. Please note that the pay scale in this advert will not be changing as a result.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6)

Band 6: 0.6 WTE - 21.6 hours per week

Fixed term for 1 year

Within the Adult Community and Rehabilitation Speech and Language Therapy Service including sessions within Home First team dedicated to providing acute SLT care at home.

• To provide a comprehensive service including assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management to adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties referred to the East and Midlothian community team and for urgent SLT care at home.

• A qualified SLT wishing to consolidate and develop skills in the field of adult acquired disorders.
• Evidence of significant post registration professional practice experience to undertake and fulfill the key areas for this post.
• A SLT degree qualification or equivalent and HCPC registration is essential for this post.
• Car driver is essential.
