Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Yiewsley Grange, West Drayton, Hillingdon Granges. The role will be predominantly based at Yiewsley Grange with occasional support required at other Hillingdon Granges sites.
Salary: up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (two £2,500 payments as described).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 16:30pm.
Contract: Permanent (term time only or full time flexible).
Responsibilities
You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs. Within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working you will hold a caseload, provide staff training and consultation as required and work collaboratively with the education and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registered.
- 1-2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting.
- Experience engaging individuals with complex communication profiles.
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma informed practice.
- Experience in multi disciplinary settings and with families/relatives and carers.
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills across areas of SaLT practice.
- Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Competent in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to clinical practice and professional management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications.
- ASD experience and understanding of sensory/motor differences.
- Understanding of the link between arousal levels and communication.
