Speech and Language Therapist
Location: The Shires - Oakham (Secondary) LE15 6JB (3 days) & Meadows View (Primary) PE9 2JL (2 days)
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, flexibility around full time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)
Essential:

Responsibilities
You will work collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities while considering the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload, supported by your designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered, and registered with the RCSLT
- NQT's are welcome to apply with SEND experience (Essential)
- Some relevant experience in a previously held job of engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma informed practice
- Some experience of multi disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Some experience of communicating with families/relatives and carers
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice
- Good relationship building, analytical and judgemental skills
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Competent in core areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of different Speech and Language Therapy assessment tools, types of intervention and understanding of how to formulate support plans based on needs profile
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi disciplinary team
- Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group supporting
- Some understanding of other differences, e.g. sensory and motor, which may impact an individual's communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs profile
- Some evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
