Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Heath Farm College - Kent. ME16 0ER & Medway Green School - Kent, ME1 3TS (covering both sites, approx. 35 minutes by car)

Salary: up to £53,200 DOE (Full-time equivalent)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Contract: Permanent (Term time only or full time flexible discussions possible)

Professional Development: £2,000 training allowance post-probation.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention for pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs within an education setting.
  • Maintain a caseload of Speech and Language Therapy clients, supported by a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary education team to implement the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and relevant professional and governing body requirements.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Support pupils in building independence and confidence through tailored therapeutic plans.
Qualifications
  • BSc Hons in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT.
  • Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity, trauma informed practice and multi disciplinary working.
  • Experience communicating with families, carers and multi disciplinary teams.
  • Good relationship building, analytical and judgemental skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organisational abilities.
  • Competent in core SA/LT practice and knowledge of RCSLT Communication Standards.
  • Familiarity with SA/LT assessment tools, intervention types, and formulation of support plans.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group.
