Salary: Band 5 Equivalent: TH1 £36,783 to TH9 £48,087 FTE dependent on experience

About the role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will support autistic pupils with a wide range of speech, language, communication, and interaction needs, including non-speaking pupils and pupils using Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
You will work closely with:
A Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Clinical Psychologists
Occupational Therapists
Assistant Psychologists
Specialist education staff
This is a varied and rewarding role combining:
Direct clinical work
Collaborative MDT working
Embedded classroom support
Communication-focused intervention
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering speech, language, and communication assessment and intervention
Supporting pupils using AAC approaches including PECS, Makaton, PODD and communication devices
Supporting staff to embed communication strategies throughout the school day
Contributing to EHCP reviews and multidisciplinary planning
Delivering individual and small-group intervention
Supporting the development of communication approaches across the school
Therapy is fully integrated into the educational environment, allowing meaningful work with pupils, families, and staff.

About you
You will be:
A qualified Speech and Language Therapist, or due to qualify soon
Eligible for HCPC registration and membership of the Royal College of
Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
Passionate about supporting autistic children and young people
Reflective and motivated to develop clinical skills
Collaborative and motivated to work within a multidisciplinary team
Interested in functional communication and inclusive practice
Experience in SEND, autism, AAC, or specialist education is beneficial but not essential.
