Speech and Language Therapist

Location

Hillingdon Granges - predominantly based at Yiewsley Grange with occasional support to other sites.

Hours & Contract

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 16.30pm. Permanent contract (term time only, or full time schedule can be discussed).

Salary

Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (payable as £2,500 after one month and £2,500 after final probation period). T&C's apply.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the education team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs. Provide and manage a caseload under the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, support clinical supervision and staff training, and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.

Essential Criteria
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • 1 2 years' experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting
  • Experience engaging and working with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma informed practice
  • Multi disciplinary working experience across a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills across SaLT practice
  • Strong relationship building, analytical and judgement skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written)
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Competence in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Awareness of SaLT assessment tools and formulation of support plans
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and clinical implications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group
  • ASD experience
Desirable
  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
  • Understanding of the link between arousal levels and communication
