Job Introduction
Bright Futures, Inspired By You.
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding Therapeutic Team in the Manchester area, with schools based in Oldham, Wigan and Oldham.
The role involves working across three school sites with children aged 5 19 in a specialist SEN/SEMH environment. It is a full time role working term time only (38 weeks per year).
There's nothing more rewarding than helping someone believe in themselves, have the confidence to celebrate their own uniqueness and achieve success that is personal to them.
This is an exciting opportunity to further develop and use your therapeutic knowledge and experience to support colleagues across the Group and deliver positive outcomes for young people in our independent schools.
What you'll get to do
- Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues.
- Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon.
- Conduct assessments, set goals and recommend therapeutic support for your own caseload.
- Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy.
- Benefit from regular supervision and CPD activities.
- Participate in service development activities across the Horizon Group.
What we're looking for from you
- HCPC registered.
- BSc registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience of working with children and young people, or relevant demonstrable transferable skills.
- A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Well developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work autonomously with support from individual and peer supervision.
- Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values.
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
Closing date for this role is 23rd June; we reserve the right to close this job role early upon receipt of suitable application.
