We are looking for a skilled and experienced Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our experienced team on the Acute Stroke unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
We are committed to delivering high quality care to people in Cornwall who have had a stroke and would love to work with a new team member who shares our passion.
You will be working as part of a well-established Speech and language team and will also work collaboratively with a supportive MDT to provide the best service that we can for patients across our stroke pathway.
This is a part time post (25.12 hours) per week until May 2027, whilst we support a team member to take up a secondment elsewhere in the team.
Main duties of the jobTo work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of specialist, evidence based SLT assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult patients admitted with a stroke and other conditions.
To be able to manage and prioritise SLT referrals and caseload for patients admitted with stroke.
To deliver education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals including nursing staff, therapists and assistants.
