Job Description

We are seeking two passionate and motivated Band 6 Speech andLanguage Therapists to join a to join our dynamic Adult Community Speech& Language Therapy team on a 3- month temporary contract. This is a fulltime position. This is an exciting opportunity to work with adults aged 16+who present with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, primarilywithin neurology services, across a range of community and rehabilitationsettings.

Main duties of the job

As part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and management for individuals with communication and dysphagia needs, supporting them to achieve meaningful outcomes and maximise their independence.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of adultswith communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Undertake comprehensiveassessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Deliver specialist interventionsand evaluate outcomes using appropriate measures.
  • Work collaboratively with clients,families, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Provide expert advice oncommunication and dysphagia management.
  • Contribute to referral triage andprioritisation processes.
  • Support service development,clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor juniorcolleagues, assistants, and students.
  • Participate in clinicalsupervision and ongoing professional development.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport for daily travel across service locations.
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience as a Speech & Language Therapist.
Experience
  • Experience working with adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience receiving and utilising clinical supervision.
