Experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We offer a 1.0 WTE role in the ENT and Head and Neck SLT team at the Royal Derby Hospital.

We seek an HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist who will provide specialist clinical care for ENT, voice and dysphagia in an inpatient and clinic setting.

Job Summary

Provide specialist clinical service, manage complex communication, voice, airway, and dysphagia cases, and lead and influence service provision and clinical pathways in the specialty.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver ENT, voice, and dysphagia assessments and interventions.
  • Manage complex cases in inpatient and clinic settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide clinical mentorship, supervision, and second opinions.
  • Develop and influence clinical pathways and service provision.
Person Specification Experience (Essential)
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree.
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Post registration experience, including dysphagia.
Experience (Desirable)
  • Membership of relevant Clinical Education Networks.
  • Experience supervising students and assistants, providing feedback to training establishments.
Skills (Essential)
  • Ability to understand and apply capacity and demand issues, prioritise caseload, and explain rationale.
  • Post graduate dysphagia experience.
  • Teamwork and mentorship skills; provides supervision and second opinions.
Skills (Desirable)
  • Skills in managing patients in critical care and HDU settings.
