Job Overview
Provide specialist Voice and Upper Airway speech and language therapy to adults with complex ENT diagnoses. Work within a multidisciplinary team of 10 SLTs and 4 laryngologists in a centre of excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver autonomous specialist Voice and Upper Airway SLT services to adult patients.
- Provide assessment and intervention for complex physical, psychological and emotional needs.
- Collaborate effectively with a large team of specialists and support junior staff.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- HCPC registration in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Evidence of NHS working experience.
- Strong basic counselling skills.
- Experience in clinical supervision of SLT students.
- Completion of specialist postgraduate training in voice disorders at MSc level or equivalent.
- Member of relevant CEnS.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience with adult voice patients.
- Experience carrying out evidence based research projects.
- Proven utilisation of assessment tools for adult voice and swallowing disorders.
- Supervision of junior staff.
- Specialist therapeutic interventions for adult voice and swallowing disorders.
- Experience in adult dysphagia and voice with children.
- Training delivery to diverse audiences.
