We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist for our adult inpatient and community services based at Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals. The role involves managing a wide-ranging caseload of communication and swallowing difficulties across general medicine, progressive neurological conditions, stroke rehabilitation, palliative care, and acute and community settings. You will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, training, audit, and providing mentorship to junior colleagues.

Main duties of the job
  • Manage a caseload independently, assessing and treating patients with a variety of communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Contribute to service development, training and audit, and supervise Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists, assistants and SLT students.
  • Lead and participate in service improvement projects and audit initiatives.
  • Provide robust clinical and managerial supervision, peer support, and access to CPD opportunities.
Experience & Knowledge Required
  • Experience in a relevant junior role, including management of a range of conditions and evidence of additional knowledge through formal and informal clinical supervision.
  • Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations.
  • Experience in assessment and provision of specialist equipment.
  • Experience in delivering clinical treatment.
  • Experience in using outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment.
  • Experience of training/supporting others (including students) within a specialist clinical area.
  • Delivery of relevant audit projects.
  • Developed or specialist clinical skills within the relevant area.
Education, Qualifications and Training
  • HCPC Registered Speech & Language Therapist.
  • Evidence of relevant CPD activities.
  • Evidence of recognised post graduate training within a specialist area.
