Senior Lecturer in Speech & Language Therapy (Welsh Medium)

The role requires a fluent Welsh speaker, HCPC registration and a minimum of five years' experience as a Speech & Language Therapist, including supervising students on placement.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the BSc (Hons) Speech & Language Therapy programme through

  • academic and clinical teaching of curriculum modules;
  • the design and development of programme modules;
  • supervision of students during placement;
  • development of the department's research profile via pedagogic and practitioner research, including audits or other research projects.
Experience
  • Experience of HE teaching or equivalent and providing academic leadership and first line support/mentoring for colleagues.
  • Experience of engaging in pedagogic and practitioner research, including contributing to academic strategies.
  • Experience of managing performance through setting, monitoring and review of objectives.
  • Experience of teaching and scholarship in Higher Education.
  • Experience of conducting an audit or research.
Qualifications
  • Master level qualification or equivalent specialist clinical experience; an earned master's or doctoral level qualification.
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist, membership of HCPC.
  • Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy's Professional Recognition scheme, obtainable within agreed timescales and certainly within three years of employment.
