Children's Speech and Language Therapist

The Children's Speech and Language Therapy Team is excited to be seeking a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join us. We have vacancies in both Early Years Clinics in Bristol and Schools across South Gloucestershire, working closely with colleagues in Bristol & North Somerset.

We are offering a permanent vacancy, as well as a 1 year fixed term opportunity to cover a secondment.

We are a friendly and supportive team that deliver a variety of clinical Speech and Language Therapy Services across BNSSG. We offer regular training and CPD opportunities to our staff, a buddy system for new starters, regular line management and a regular meeting structure. Opportunity to provide both assessment and therapy for a wide range of clinical presentations. A large and supportive team means that there is plenty of opportunity for development and progression internally.

Main duties of the job
  • To offer assessment and interventions for child or young person within specified area of clinical needs.
  • To carry own caseload within specified clinical area
  • To provide a safe, client centred, effective and evidence based therapy service in the community setting
  • You will work within the Children's Service to deliver clinical activities, supported by a robust competency framework, to children within both clinic environments and schools.

£32,073 to £39,043 a year Per Annum, Pro Rata.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered with HCPC
Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required
  • Experience of working with children and / or young people
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate assessments and therapy interventions for children with SLCN
  • Knowledge of professional standards of practice
  • Effective organisation and time management skills
  • Experience of completing assessments/therapy intervention sessions for children with SLCN
