University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust's Speech & Language Therapy Department is looking for a part time B7 Speech and Language Therapist to cover a maternity leave (fixed term contract). The role requires demonstrable experience and skills in managing complex voice and laryngeal dysfunction disorders as well as ENT/H&N related OP dysphagia.

Main duties of the jobYou will provide an online outpatient service for the assessment and management of children and adults referred by our ENT and OMFS consultants. You will be supported in waiting list reduction strategies by the principal lead SLT for ENT and Voice disorders services and as part of the wider speech and language therapy service.
Job responsibilitiesTo be an advanced therapist within the SLT team providing a comprehensive, highly specialist clinical service to all patients referred with complex communication and/or swallowing difficulties in ENT services.
To be an active member of the SLT team and a highly specialist resource and advisor on complex swallowing and/or communication disorders, liaising with other SLTs and professionals external to UHSussex regarding highly specialist information, analysis and advice on continuing care.
To contribute to instrumental assessments carried out by SLT colleagues within and external to the Trust and give specialist opinion.
To comply with the standards and priorities laid down by the SLT manager and operational manager(s) for cancer and ENT services.
To lead on waiting list initiatives and efficient management of patients on the non urgent waiting list.
QualificationsThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
