Portsmouth City Neurodevelopmental Service Speech and Language Therapist. We are looking to recruit a specialist Speech and Language therapist with an interest in neurodiversity to work in the new Portsmouth neurodiversity team. We would welcome interest from Speech and language therapists who have experience of working with children with social interaction difficulties and their families. This role will primarily be providing indirect support through others, so your knowledge of evidence based interventions and new ways of looking at neurodiversity is essential.

Within this post there will be responsibility to provide training and development to the team of support workers and professional colleagues in the team. The role will be within the Neurodiversity team at the Portsmouth Civic Offices and working directly with the team to provide advice and support to families.

Main duties of the job

As part of the role, you will undertake some ADOS assessment and as part of a multidisciplinary team make differential diagnosis where this needed. You will be required to support families to help them come to terms with new and sometimes difficult messages. You will need to be able to adapt your communication style to be able to support both families and professionals.

Qualifications
  • BSc Hons Speech and Language degree or equivalent
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • HCPC Registration
