Speech and Language Therapist - Bramfield House School

Location: Bramfield House School - Suffolk, IP19 9AB
Contract: Permanent - Term time only
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE, DOE
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
  • Work within OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, adhering to governing and professional body standards.
  • Hold and manage a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from clinical supervisor and lead clinician.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining a strong safeguarding culture.
  • Foster independence and empowerment for pupils through innovative approaches.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT.
  • Evidence of expert level knowledge, skill and expertise in specialist areas relevant to the OFG service cohort.
  • Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting complex communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity, trauma informed practice and multi disciplinary working.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with families, relatives and carers.
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice.
  • Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Competence in core areas of Speech and Language Therapy and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention types and how to formulate support plans based on needs profiles.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
  • Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group.
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
