Speech and Language Therapist (Bank)

Circle Rehabilitation - Birmingham

This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for staff on annual leave or absence.

Salary: Up to £45.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments of speech, language, communication and swallowing functions using a variety of clinical tools and techniques.
  • Develop and deliver evidence based treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals, including communication therapy, voice therapy and dysphagia management.
  • Collaborate with medical teams, nursing staff, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists to deliver coordinated, patient centred care.
  • Educate patients, families and carers about therapy strategies, communication aids and safe swallowing practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date clinical documentation in line with HCPC, RCSLT and organisational policies.
  • Recommend and support the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) tools and resources.
Qualifications
  • BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working with communication and/or swallowing disorders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
