Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Norton College - Worcester WR5 2BA & Norton College - Tewkesbury GL20 8UQ
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30am - 4:30pm
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in house clinical team at Norton College. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, holding a caseload with the support of a clinical supervisor and lead clinician. The post is suitable for a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and deliver intervention plans for pupils with complex communication needs.
- Maintain clinical records and fulfil statutory duties, including safeguarding and data protection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, families and external service providers.
- Contribute to staff training, consultation and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT.
- Relevant experience in engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
- Knowledge of neurodiversity, trauma informed practice and multi disciplinary teamwork.
- Familiarity with SaLT assessment tools, intervention strategies and support planning.
- Understanding of legislation relevant to clinical practice and professional management.
- Good communication, relationship building, time management and organisational skills.
