About the Opportunity
Are you a skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist with experience of working in schools? Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join an exciting new service as part of the Experts at Hand initiative.
Working under the leadership of a Band 8 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be part of a dynamic, supportive and forward-thinking team delivering early, effective and impactful support to children and young people with SEND in mainstream schools.
About the Role
You will work across school clusters in Havering, helping schools identify and respond to communication needs at an early stage. Through collaboration, advice and practical support, you will help build staff confidence, develop skills and strengthen schools’ ability to support children and young people with communication and interaction needs.
You will work closely with a range of experienced professionals, including the Communication and Interaction team, assistant practitioners, specialist CENMAC Speech and Language Therapists and NHS partners. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, multi-agency approach that makes a real difference to children, young people and the staff who support them.
What We Offer
You must be willing to travel regularly between schools across Havering, with occasional visits to CENMAC at Charlton Park Academy in South East London.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from motivated Speech and Language Therapists with relevant school-based experience who are keen to contribute to an innovative service, work collaboratively across professional teams and help improve support for children and young people with SEND.
