Salary: £45,091 – £48,226 (Scale 10, Points 34–37)
Hours: 37 hours per week | Term-time (39 weeks) | Flexible working considered

The Hawthorns School is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing specialist provision for autistic young people.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, where communication is central to the curriculum and all staff are committed to achieving the best outcomes for pupils with complex needs .

The Role
You will provide a high-quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy service to pupils with complex communication needs, working collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering specialist assessment and intervention for individual pupils and groups
  • Developing and implementing therapy programmes tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting staff through training, coaching and advice to embed communication strategies
  • Contributing to EHCP processes, reports, reviews and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
  • Supporting service development and contributing to the wider therapeutic provision
  • Line managing and supporting Speech and Language Therapy Assistants

About You

You will:

  • Hold a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification
  • Be registered with the HCPC and a member of the RCSLT (or eligible)
  • Have experience working with children and young people with complex needs, including autism
  • Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
