We are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join our paediatric Hearing implant rehabilitation team in a permanent role. This post will offer QTODs, Educational Audiologists or Speech and Language Therapists the opportunity to extend and consolidate their professional experience working with infants and young people with conductive and severe to profound sensorineural hearing losses, in a setting that supports the use of BCHD or implantable hearing devices.
This role involves both in clinic and outreach work, with an aim to fully utilise remote appointments where possible.
Main duties of the jobYou will provide a specialist hearing rehabilitation service as part of the regional hearing implant programme based at Addenbrooke's Hospital. This includes assessing patients' suitability for a hearing implant within a multidisciplinary team and supporting patients with their communication throughout their rehabilitation journey. The majority of the caseload is with cochlear implants, but work with other hearing implants will also be part of the post.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating care as a specialist clinician. The post holder will also offer training and supervision for other staff and students, contribute to maintaining and developing pathways of care, and participate in research and audit activity.
Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore a Student visa holder will only be eligible if they have applied for a Graduate visa, have successfully completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or the Trust agrees to sponsor them as a Skilled Worker and they complete their studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date.
