Job Introduction

We are looking for a Part Time Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding Therapeutic Team in the Manchester area, schools based at our Meadowbrook School, based in Long Eaton. The role involves working at our new Meadowbrook school in Long Eaton with children aged 5-19 in a specialist SEN/SEMH environment, working 1 day per week Term Time only (38 weeks per year). Responsibilities
  • Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues
  • Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon
  • Be responsible for assessments, goal setting and recommendations for therapeutic support for your own caseload
  • Develop, write and regularly review/upadate therapeutic goals for children and young people in education
  • Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy
  • Benefit from regular supervision and CPD activities

Qualifications
  • HCPC registered
  • BSc registered Speech and Language Therapist
  • Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant transferable skills
  • Accept nearly Qualified applications
  • A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision
  • Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle
